IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR VIDEO AUDITION

  • WEB LINKS(e.g. YouTube, Vimeo) are accepted.

  • Video about 10 minutes long, filmed within 3 months of the audition registration date, should reflect dancer's strengths and CURRENT training level. 

  • Receipt of a VIDEO audition submission will be confirmed with an automated confirmation email from Campsite.

  • Allow 2 weeks from the VIDEO audition submission to be notified of your result via email addresses provided in the Campsite Parent Dashboard.

  • Please contact us ONLY if it has been more than 14 days since your submission and you have NOT received your audition result.

SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS

  • Upload the link to your video in the Video Audition Form found on the Forms tab of your CampSite profile.

  • Do not forget to upload your headshot and first arabesque photo to CampSite

John Cranko School SI welcomes students from all over the world. Video auditions are accepted for those unable to attend an in-person or virtual audition. Candidates desiring to be considered for scholarship are highly encouraged to attend an in-person audition. 

YOU MUST REGISTER ONLINE AND SUBMIT YOUR VIDEO IN THE PORTAL TO BE REVIEWED. Submissions are reviewed on a rolling basis.

Video Audition Information

VIDEO AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Exercises at the barre

  • Center work (including adagio, pirouettes)

  • Allegro (jumps)

  • Pointe work for dancers 12 y.o. and older (11 y.o. pointe at the barre if on pointe)

  • Younger dancers should also show flexibility

Males 15 and older

  • Turning combination

  • Petite allegro

  • Combination with tours en l’air

Females 15 and older

  • Grand saut de chat

  • Pointe work including adagio

  • Pirouettes

  • Fouette turns

12-14 y.o.

  • Adagio - Diagonal (turns)

  • Grand saut de chat

  • Pointe work (échappé, piqué turns)

9-11 y.o.

  • Pas de bourres

  • Diagonal/Pirouettes from 4th position

  • Flexibility

Dancers in the following age groups should ALSO include:​​​

Students may participate either from their own homes or from a dance studio. Only one student/zoom account and camera.

Zoom Links:

  • Those registering prior to the deadline will receive their Zoom invitation link 48-72 hours prior to their audition.

  • Those registering after the deadline, if capacity permits, will receive their Zoom invitation link about 1 hour prior to the audition.

Warm Up:

  • Ensure that the dancer has thoroughly warmed up and stretched in advance.

  • If any injuries notify us in advance in writing and self-modify participation.
